Who Can Apply?
Essential Qualification MSc in Food Science and Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university. The final result must already have been declared.
Required Experience Two years of R&D experience in industrial or academic institutions, or science and technology organisations. CFTRI counts experience gained after the qualifying degree.
Desirable Experience Food analysis techniques and product development.
Age Limit 35 years as on 16 November 2026.
Upper-Age Relaxation 5 years for SC, ST, PwBD and women applicants. OBC applicants receive 3 years.
Previous CSIR Project Service A six-year cumulative limit applies across CSIR project appointments. Candidates currently working in CSIR or CFTRI need a no-objection certificate from their current principal investigator.

Monthly Stipend and Contract Duration
With a Qualifying National Test ₹35,000 per month plus HRA for candidates who have qualified a national eligibility test such as CSIR-UGC NET or GATE.
Other Eligible Candidates ₹28,000 per month plus HRA.
Initial Engagement Up to 30 November 2026. CFTRI may extend the engagement up to November 2027, subject to funding, project requirements and the project end date.
